Why IPv6 proxies cost less than IPv4

IPv4 has about 4.3 billion addresses and they ran out. What is left trades on a secondary market, and a proxy provider buying IPv4 exit capacity is competing with every cloud host and every other provider for a fixed supply. That scarcity is the single largest input cost in an IPv4 proxy price, and it is why IPv4 pools are metered so carefully.

IPv6 has no such constraint. A single /64 allocation contains more addresses than the entire IPv4 internet, and a provider with one /48 can hand out unique exits effectively without limit. Nothing about the underlying bandwidth or routing is cheaper, so the saving is not universal, but the per-address component of the price collapses. A target that passes on its document host but pulls an IPv4-only analytics script may still be usable if you do not need that script to load, and completely unusable if the page builds its content from an IPv4-only CDN.

Check what your own stack does with IPv6. Some HTTP clients, container networks, and CI runners are IPv4-only by default or prefer IPv4 when both are available.
