TrueProxies vs Decodo: residential proxies compared

Decodo, formerly Smartproxy, is the self-service middle of the market: 115M+ IPs in 195+ locations, ZIP and ASN targeting on every plan, a 3-day 100 MB trial and a 14-day money-back option. Its rates run from $4/GB pay-as-you-go down to $2/GB on a 1,000 GB Enterprise plan. TrueProxies costs less per GB, with traffic that never expires and unlimited-traffic plans, but has a smaller pool and no ZIP targeting.

When Decodo is the better choice

  • You need ZIP or continent targeting on a small plan. Decodo includes continent, country, state, city, ZIP and ASN targeting from its 3 GB plan. TrueProxies has no ZIP targeting.
  • You want a refund window. Decodo offers 14-day money-back on a first purchase. TrueProxies refunds only for a verified technical issue on its side.
  • The pool matters. Decodo advertises 115M+ IPs. Residential IPv4 Standard has 50M+ residential IPs in 150+ countries.
  • You pay with PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Decodo takes PayPal, Alipay, Google Pay and Apple Pay as well as cards and crypto. TrueProxies takes Visa, Mastercard and crypto.

When TrueProxies fits

  • Cost per GB. Standard runs $1.10 down to $0.60/GB and Lite $0.50 down to $0.45/GB, below Decodo's lowest published $2/GB, which needs a $2,000 monthly plan.
  • Usage is irregular. Decodo plans are monthly subscriptions. TrueProxies traffic packs are bought once and never expire.
  • Heavy traffic at a fixed price. Unlimited Bandwidth and Unlimited Pro have no traffic cap and are priced by speed, from $4.08/hour at 10 Mbps.

How we compared

  • Competitor figures were read from the vendor's own public pages on November 6, 2026, as displayed, and each source is linked below the table. Where a page does not state something, the table says so.
  • List prices and promotions are shown separately. A coupon that lasts 3 months is not a rate to budget against.
  • Pool sizes and country counts are what each provider advertises. None is independently audited, and we did not test either network for this page.
  • Before moving traffic, send the same targets, countries, concurrency and retry rules through both providers, and compare successful responses and billed traffic. The proxy checker runs a first connectivity check on any proxy.

Questions about TrueProxies and Decodo

Is Decodo the same as Smartproxy?

Yes. Smartproxy renamed itself Decodo, and its plans and pricing page are published under the Decodo name.

Is TrueProxies cheaper than Decodo?

On published prices, yes: Standard runs $1.10 down to $0.60/GB and Lite $0.50 down to $0.45/GB, against $4 down to $2/GB at Decodo. Decodo has a larger pool, ZIP targeting and a money-back window, so test both on your own targets.

Does Decodo have a free trial?

Yes: 100 MB for 3 days, after which the plan you chose starts automatically unless you cancel. The TrueProxies free trial is 1 hour of Unlimited Pro at 10 Mbps and never turns into a paid plan.

Does Decodo traffic roll over?

Its pricing page does not say. Plans are monthly subscriptions, and a paid plan stays yours to the end of its billing cycle. TrueProxies traffic packs never expire.

Run your own targets through both networks before you move traffic.
