Birmarket, the marketplace known as Umico until July 2025 and now part of PASHA Holding's Bir ecosystem, sells alongside Trendyol's Azerbaijani storefront, and Wolt runs food and grocery delivery in Baku. Baku accounts for most listings and the fastest delivery; outside the capital, stock is thinner and delivery slower. Instagram is a major sales channel for smaller Baku shops, many of which have no website. Report.az, APA, Trend and Oxu.az are the major news sites for publisher checks.
Google is the main search engine, with Yandex still used for Russian-language queries, so a retailer with both language versions should be checked on each. Personal data falls under the Law on Personal Data (No. 998-IIIQ) of 11 May 2010; projects that store names, phone numbers or other personal details from listings should be checked against it.
Travel prices centre on Baku but reach well beyond it. AZAL, the national carrier, absorbed its low-cost brand Buta Airways in 2023 and flies from Baku to the Nakhchivan exclave, which has no direct land link to the rest of Azerbaijan, so air fares are the main way to price that trip. Mountain resorts set the domestic hotel calendar: Shahdag in the Qusar district and Tufandag near Gabala fill during the ski season, while Gabala and Sheki draw summer visitors from Baku and the Gulf states. Caspian beach hotels north of Baku are busiest in July and August, so resort rate checks need the travel dates fixed.
