Market context
Venezuelan e-commerce runs on two currencies. The official unit is the bolívar (VES), but many stores, apps and marketplaces show prices in US dollars and convert them to bolívares at the Central Bank of Venezuela's daily rate when the customer pays, so a price series needs the dollar figure, the bolívar figure and the date of the rate. Checkouts reflect the same split: Pago Móvil transfers and local debit cards for bolívares, and cash dollars or Zelle for dollar payments.
Yummy, a Venezuelan super-app for delivery, rides and a peer-to-peer marketplace, operates in dozens of cities, and Cashea's buy-now-pay-later plans in interest-free installments are offered by thousands of partner stores online and in person. Farmatodo sells pharmacy and personal-care goods with delivery seven days a week, and Mercado Libre Venezuela is still used for new and used goods, from car parts to phones. The main news sites include El Universal, Últimas Noticias and El Pitazo.
Google leads search, but access is uneven: several news and media sites are blocked on some Venezuelan networks, so whether a page or an ad loads can depend on which ISP the visitor uses. Venezuela has no general data-protection law; Article 28 of the Constitution gives people the right to access and correct data held about them, and the Special Law against Computer Crimes of 2001 covers unauthorized access to systems.
Delivery in Venezuela changes what a listed price means. Sellers shipping between cities commonly use courier networks such as Zoom and Tealca, which have offices across the country, and parcels are often collected at a courier office rather than delivered to the door. Zoom also offers shipments where the freight is paid at the destination, so the shipping cost never appears in the online price. Inside cities, motorbike couriers and apps set their own delivery fees. Margarita Island, a free port, prices many imported goods differently from the mainland, so a price series should note the city, the delivery method and whether freight is payable on arrival.

print(response.json())Often both. Many stores and apps list a dollar price and convert it to bolívares (VES) at the Central Bank of Venezuela's daily rate when the customer pays, so the bolívar figure changes from day to day even when the dollar price does not. Pago Móvil and debit cards settle in bolívares, while cash and Zelle settle in dollars. Store the dollar price, the bolívar price and the rate date together.
Start with Farmatodo for pharmacy and personal-care goods, Mercado Libre Venezuela for new and used products, and Yummy for restaurant, grocery and pharmacy delivery across dozens of cities. Cashea shows which retailers sell on interest-free installments, a popular way to buy appliances and electronics. For news and advertising, El Universal, Últimas Noticias and El Pitazo are the main national sites to check.
Not a general one. Venezuela has no dedicated data-protection statute and no national data protection authority. Article 28 of the Constitution gives people the right to access and correct data about them, the Special Law against Computer Crimes of 2001 punishes unauthorized access, and in 2011 the Supreme Court set out principles such as consent and purpose limitation.
