Market context
Russian dominates Kyrgyzstan's small online market, with Kyrgyz versions growing on government, bank and news sites, and prices in som (KGS). In the south, around Osh and Jalal-Abad, Uzbek is also widely spoken. Payments run largely through bank and wallet apps: MBank and the Elsom wallet handle QR payments and transfers, and many shops still take cash on delivery. Much of what people buy online arrives through Wildberries and Ozon, which run pickup points in Bishkek, Osh and other towns. Courier delivery is concentrated in Bishkek; elsewhere, pickup points do most of the work.
Lalafo is the main classifieds platform for goods and services, House.kg covers apartments and rentals, and Mashina.kg lists cars, so Bishkek rents and used-car prices are straightforward to follow. Lalafo also runs in other countries, so checks should target its Kyrgyz site, lalafo.kg. Glovo and Yandex Go run delivery and ride-hailing in the capital, and Namba Food is a long-running local delivery service. For publishers, 24.kg, Kaktus.media and AKIpress are widely read news sites carrying local display advertising.
Google leads search, but Yandex remains in regular use among Russian speakers, so Russian-language rankings should be checked on both engines, where Kazakh and Russian sites often compete with local pages. Personal data rules moved into the Digital Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, signed on 31 July 2025 and in force since 8 February 2026, which replaced the 2008 Law on Personal Information.
Kyrgyzstan's tourism follows Issyk-Kul. From late June to August, the lake's north shore around Cholpon-Ata and Bosteri fills with visitors from Bishkek, Kazakhstan and Russia, and guesthouse, hotel and apartment rates there rise before emptying again in autumn. Karakol, at the eastern end of the lake, adds a winter ski season and summer trekking. Most visitors arrive through Manas International Airport in Bishkek, with Osh airport serving the south and Issyk-Kul International Airport at Tamchy serving the lake. The Bishkek to Osh road crosses high mountain passes, so domestic flights compete with shared taxis and minibuses on that route.

print(response.json())Both. Google is the main engine, but Russian is the main language of online commerce in Kyrgyzstan and many Russian speakers still use Yandex, so Russian-language rankings can differ noticeably between the two. Kyrgyz-language searches are fewer and run mainly on Google. Local businesses also compete with Kazakh and Russian sites on Russian queries, so a check from inside the country shows whether local pages outrank them.
Lalafo is the general classifieds platform for phones, electronics, furniture and services, House.kg is the reference for apartment rents and sales, and Mashina.kg for used cars. For new goods, Wildberries and Ozon are widely used, delivering to pickup points across Bishkek, Osh and other towns with prices in som. Glovo and Namba Food cover restaurant and grocery delivery in Bishkek.
Both countries belong to the Eurasian Economic Union and share Wildberries, Ozon, Glovo and Russian-language storefronts. The difference is scale and structure: Kazakhstan's retail is organised around the Kaspi.kz super app and large electronics chains, while Kyrgyzstan has no equivalent, so classifieds like Lalafo and pickup-point deliveries carry more of the load. Prices are in som rather than tenge, and Kazakh sites often compete for the same Russian-language searches.
