Nicaraguan shoppers see prices in córdobas (NIO), but US dollars are common for cars, rents, property and imported electronics, and many listings show both. Storefronts and search are in Spanish on the Pacific side, where Managua, León, Granada and Masaya hold most of the population. On the Caribbean coast, in the autonomous regions around Bluefields and Bilwi, English Creole and Miskito are widely spoken and online services are thinner. Cards issued by banks such as BAC and Banpro, and cash on delivery, are the common ways to pay online.
Grocery retail is led by Walmart's Palí, La Unión and Maxi Palí chains and by the local Supermercados La Colonia. Encuentra24 carries classified listings for cars, jobs and property, Mercado Libre keeps a Nicaraguan site, and PedidosYa handles food delivery in Managua and other Pacific cities. Tourism pricing centres on Granada's colonial centre and on San Juan del Sur on the Pacific coast, where hotel, surf-camp and rental rates are quoted in dollars. Costa Rica is the usual comparison: Palí and Maxi Palí and many of the same brands operate on both sides of the border, but Nicaraguan prices, delivery coverage and promotions are set separately.
Google is the dominant search engine, and Spanish results from Managua differ from those in León or Granada mainly in local packs for services and tourism. Personal data is covered by Law No. 787, the Personal Data Protection Law of 2012, with its regulation in Decree 36-2012.
Travel inside Nicaragua splits by coast. La Costeña flies from Augusto C. Sandino airport in Managua to Bluefields, the Corn Islands and Puerto Cabezas, the routes that link the Caribbean side with the capital, so domestic fares are a separate check from international ones. Ometepe, the volcanic island in Lake Nicaragua, is reached mainly by ferries that cross several times a day from San Jorge to Moyogalpa. International coaches such as Tica Bus connect Nicaragua with Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama, which puts bus fares into any regional travel comparison alongside flights from Managua.
