Residential proxies in North America

North American storefronts look alike but price differently. Listed prices in the United States usually exclude sales tax, which is added at checkout by state and often by city or county, while Canadian checkouts add GST, HST or provincial sales tax depending on the province, and Bermuda prices in its own dollar, pegged to the US dollar. Amazon runs separate US and Canadian stores; Walmart, Target, Best Buy and eBay lead US retail, and Canadian shoppers also use Canadian Tire and Kijiji. Quebec's Charter of the French Language requires French-language commerce, so Quebec visitors often see different pages.

Google leads search, but Bing holds a larger share in the United States than in most markets, especially on desktop, so paid and organic checks often cover both. Privacy law is fragmented: the United States has no general federal privacy law and states such as California set their own, Canada combines the federal PIPEDA with Quebec's Law 25, and Bermuda has its Personal Information Protection Act 2016.
