Residential proxies in Africa
Africa's online markets divide by language and by how people pay. Storefronts run in English, French, Arabic and Portuguese, with Swahili common in East Africa, and prices range from the naira, rand and Kenyan shilling to the two CFA francs shared across much of West and Central Africa. Jumia is the best-known cross-border marketplace, with stores in Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco and other markets, while Takealot and Amazon.co.za compete in South Africa and Noon sells in Egypt.
Mobile money shapes checkout pages across much of the continent: M-Pesa in Kenya and Tanzania and MTN MoMo in several West, Central and East African markets sit beside cards and cash on delivery. Google leads search almost everywhere. Data-protection laws now cover many of the largest markets, including South Africa's POPIA, Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023, Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019 and Egypt's Law No. 151 of 2020.
