Market context
Moroccan shoppers read storefronts in French or Arabic but search and post in Darija, the Moroccan Arabic dialect, which they write either in Arabic script or in Latin letters with numbers standing in for some sounds. Amazigh (Tamazight) has been an official language since 2011 but rarely appears in e-commerce. Prices are in dirhams (MAD). Cash on delivery is still how most online orders are paid, so checkout pages lead with it, and card payments go through the CMI interbank gateway.
Jumia is the main general marketplace and Avito.ma the classifieds site for cars, phones, furniture and property. Marjane Mall and Electroplanet extend their store chains online, Mubawab lists property for sale and rent, and Moteur.ma covers new and used cars. Glovo delivers food and groceries in Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech and the other main cities. Hespress, in Arabic, and Le360, in French and Arabic, are among the most-read news sites, and ONCF, including its Al Boraq high-speed trains, and Royal Air Maroc both sell tickets online in dirhams.
Google dominates search. The same query written in French, Modern Standard Arabic or Darija returns different result sets, and French queries also compete with pages from France, so ranking checks should cover all three languages from Moroccan connections. Personal data is governed by Law No. 09-08 of 2009 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, overseen by the Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel (CNDP).
Summer reshapes Moroccan travel prices. Under Operation Marhaba, and Spain's matching Operación Paso del Estrecho, millions of Moroccans living in Europe cross the Strait of Gibraltar each summer and again at Christmas, mostly by ferry from Algeciras and Tarifa to Tanger Med and Tanger Ville, so ferry fares, car hire and coastal hotel rates climb in July and August. Inside the country, CTM sells intercity coach tickets online for routes across Morocco, and Supratours, the coach arm of ONCF, links cities the trains do not reach. Teams comparing fares should capture both the Moroccan and the Spanish side of the same crossing.

print(response.json())Check at least French and Arabic, and add Darija for consumer queries. Moroccans often search in Darija written in Latin letters, with numbers such as 3 and 7 standing in for Arabic sounds, and those queries return different pages from French or Modern Standard Arabic ones. Retail and classifieds pages from Jumia and Avito.ma rank for many product searches, while Hespress and Le360 often lead news-driven queries. Run each language from Moroccan connections.
Cash on delivery is still the way most Moroccan buyers pay for online orders, so most shops put it first at checkout and show card payment through the CMI gateway as the alternative. That changes what you monitor: the final price, delivery fee and any extra charge for paying on delivery appear only in the Moroccan checkout flow, so load it from Moroccan connections to see what local buyers are actually charged.
Ramadan is the main one: food, household and clothing spending rises through the month and into Eid al-Fitr, and retailers run Ramadan promotions. Back-to-school in September brings a second peak, and Black Friday has become a fixed event on Jumia's Moroccan site. Summer adds travel and diaspora demand. Prices, stock and delivery times shift in each period, so compare them with ordinary weeks from Moroccan connections.
