Market context
Latvian and Russian run side by side in Latvia's online retail: many shops, classifieds and news sites publish a Russian-language version beside the Latvian one, and search behaviour splits along the same line. Prices are in EUR, adopted in 2014. Parcel lockers from Omniva and DPD are a standard delivery choice, and bank links and cards dominate at checkout.
ss.com is the dominant classifieds site for cars, flats, jobs and used goods, in both languages, with city24.lv as a specialist property portal. 220.lv, the sister site of Lithuania's Pigu.lt, is a leading local marketplace, Salidzini.lv compares prices across web shops, and Rimi and Barbora sell groceries online. Wolt and Bolt Food compete in food delivery, and airBaltic, the Riga-based national airline, sells many of the flights out of the country. Delfi, TVNET and LSM.lv, the public broadcaster's news portal, are the main publishers, and each runs a Russian-language edition.
Google dominates search in both languages, but Latvian-language and Russian-language queries for the same product surface different shops and publishers, so ranking checks should cover both. Riga accounts for much of the online market, and Russian speakers are concentrated there and in Daugavpils. Listings on ss.com are grouped by region and district, which makes Riga, Jūrmala and regional towns easy to compare separately. Personal data falls under the GDPR and the Personal Data Processing Law, in force since July 2018.
Latvian checkouts lean on online banking. Bank links send buyers to Swedbank, SEB, Citadele or Luminor to approve a payment, and the bank step is usually confirmed in the bank's own app or with Smart-ID. Pay-later and instalment plans from consumer lenders such as ESTO appear beside cards on electronics and furniture sites, often with the monthly amount shown next to the full price. Many Latvian public and business services also accept eParaksts, the national e-signature, for signing contracts online. Checks of Latvian checkout pages should record which banks and credit options appear, since these differ by shop and by basket value.

print(response.json())Yes. Many Latvian shops, classifieds and news sites publish in both languages, and the Russian version is not always a straight translation: product ranges, promotions and ad slots can differ. Delfi, TVNET and LSM.lv each run Russian-language editions with their own advertising. Search behaviour splits too, so a keyword that ranks well in Latvian may bring up different shops in Russian. Collect both versions and label each record with its language.
ss.com. It carries used cars, flats, jobs and household goods in Latvian and Russian, and many dealers and estate agencies list there as well as on their own sites. city24.lv is the main specialist property portal. Asking prices in Riga differ from Jūrmala, Daugavpils or Liepāja, and ss.com groups listings by region and district, so keep those fields when collecting prices instead of averaging across the country.
The two share EUR pricing, parcel lockers, Wolt and Bolt, which was founded in Tallinn, but the platforms and languages differ. Estonians use Osta.ee for marketplace listings, Auto24.ee for cars and KV.ee for property, while Latvians rely on ss.com and city24.lv. Estonian is unrelated to Latvian, and Estonia's Russian speakers are concentrated in Tallinn and Ida-Viru county. Latvian results do not stand in for Estonian ones.
