Why use proxies in Lithuania

Lithuanian storefronts run in Lithuanian, with Russian or Polish versions on some retail and classifieds sites, and prices have been in EUR since the country joined the euro in 2015. Parcel lockers from LP Express, Omniva and DPD are a standard delivery choice, and bank-link payments through gateways such as Paysera and Montonio sit beside cards at checkout. airBaltic, Ryanair and Wizz Air sell most flights from Vilnius and Kaunas.

Pigu.lt and Varle.lt are the biggest local marketplaces, Senukai covers home and DIY, and Kaina24.lt compares prices across web shops. Skelbiu.lt handles general classifieds, Autoplius.lt used cars and Aruodas.lt property. Autoplius.lt is closely watched because Lithuania is a regional hub for used-car imports and re-export, centred on the Marijampolė car market. Vinted, founded in Vilnius, is the leading second-hand clothing app, Barbora, part of the Maxima group, sells groceries online, and Wolt and Bolt Food cover food delivery. Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda hold most delivery-app coverage, and flat prices on Aruodas.lt differ sharply between them. Delfi, 15min and the public broadcaster's LRT.lt lead news, and Delfi also runs a Russian-language edition.

Google dominates search. Lithuanian nouns change their endings by case, so 'Vilnius' also appears as 'Vilniuje' and 'Vilniaus', and many users skip letters such as ą, ė, š and ž when typing; keyword lists need both kinds of variant. Personal data falls under the GDPR and the Law on Legal Protection of Personal Data, in force in its current version since July 2018.

Language and location vary more inside Lithuania than its size suggests. Polish is the everyday language for many residents of the Vilnius district and Šalčininkai municipalities around the capital, and Russian is widely spoken in Visaginas, a town built for the former Ignalina nuclear plant. Summer demand moves to the coast: Palanga is the main seaside resort, and Nida on the Curonian Spit, reached by ferry from Klaipėda, sees holiday rental prices climb in July and August. Druskininkai in the south draws spa visitors year-round, so hotel rate checks there follow a different calendar from the coast.

Lithuania proxy FAQ

What payment and delivery options appear on Lithuanian checkouts?

Most Lithuanian web shops offer bank-link payments that send the buyer to Swedbank, SEB, Luminor or Šiaulių bankas through gateways such as Paysera or Montonio, alongside cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Delivery is often a parcel locker from LP Express, Omniva or DPD rather than a courier to the door, and the two are priced differently. A checkout check should record which banks and delivery options appear and the final EUR total.

How does Lithuania's online market compare with Latvia's?

The two share a lot: EUR pricing, the same parcel-locker networks, Wolt and Bolt Food, and a marketplace group that runs sister sites, Pigu.lt in Lithuania and 220.lv in Latvia. The differences are in classifieds and language. Lithuanians use Skelbiu.lt, Autoplius.lt and Aruodas.lt, while Latvians rely on ss.com, and Russian-language storefront versions are more common in Latvia. Results from one country do not stand in for the other.

How does Lithuania's online market compare with Poland's?

Poland runs on its own platforms and currency: Allegro leads marketplaces, Ceneo compares prices, OLX carries classifieds, InPost lockers handle much of delivery and BLIK mobile codes are a standard checkout option, all priced in PLN. Lithuania uses EUR, local sites such as Pigu.lt and Skelbiu.lt, and bank links rather than BLIK. Allegro has no Lithuanian storefront, so Polish results cannot stand in for Lithuanian prices or delivery terms.
