Market context
Two languages run through Estonia's online market. Storefronts are in Estonian, with Russian versions common because of the large Russian-speaking population in Tallinn and Ida-Viru County, and prices are in euros (EUR). Bank links from Swedbank, SEB and LHV are a normal checkout option, confirmed with the national ID card, Mobile-ID or Smart-ID, and parcel lockers from Omniva and other carriers are the usual delivery choice. The market is small, so many retailers serve Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from shared platforms with separate country prices.
Kaup24.ee is one of the largest general online stores and absorbed Hansapost.ee, which closed in April 2025. It shares an owner with 220.lv in Latvia and Pigu.lt in Lithuania, which makes cross-Baltic price comparisons straightforward. Osta.ee runs auctions and fixed-price sales, Auto24.ee is the main car marketplace, and KV.ee and City24.ee list property. Bolt Food, from the Tallinn-based Bolt, competes with Wolt for delivery, and Postimees, Delfi and the public broadcaster ERR publish news in both Estonian and Russian. Tallink and Viking Line ferry fares between Tallinn and Helsinki are a regular travel pricing check, and some Tallinn retailers add Finnish versions for visitors.
Google dominates search. Russian-language queries from Estonia can return sites from Latvia or Russia alongside Estonian ones, so a check from inside Estonia shows which local pages actually rank. Personal data falls under the GDPR and the Personal Data Protection Act, adopted in December 2018 and in force since January 2019.
Estonia's regions differ more than its size suggests. Tallinn and Harju County form the largest market, while Tartu, the university city in the south-east, has its own regional news on Tartu Postimees and its own property and rental prices. The islands of Saaremaa and Hiiumaa depend on state-run ferries booked through praamid.ee, whose car and passenger fares matter for travel and logistics checks. On the Latvian border, Valga shares a town centre with Valka in Latvia, so local services straddle two countries. A national result tested only from Tallinn can miss what shoppers in Kuressaare or Valga see.

print(response.json())Yes. Many Estonian shops, news sites and services publish in both languages, and Russian is widely used in Tallinn and in Ida-Viru County around Narva. Google treats the two as separate audiences, so a Russian keyword can bring up sites from Latvia or Russia alongside Estonian ones. For ads, confirm that Postimees and Delfi serve the right language edition and creative to each audience.
Kaup24.ee is the main general store since it absorbed Hansapost.ee in 2025, and Osta.ee handles auctions and fixed-price listings. Auto24.ee is the main car marketplace, while KV.ee and City24.ee cover property. For delivery, Bolt Food and Wolt compete in Tallinn, Tartu and other cities. Many retailers run the same platform across the Baltics, so comparing Estonian prices with Latvia and Lithuania shows where they differ.
All three use the euro and share several platforms, but each has its own language, its own leading classifieds and news sites, and its own prices. Omniva and other parcel networks run lockers across all three countries, so delivery options look similar while fees and times differ. The Latvian and Lithuanian storefronts of the same retailer can run different promotions on the same day, so a check in Tallinn does not describe Riga or Vilnius.
